In short, it enables us to live together and, while doing so, improve the conditions under which we live. WebAccording to Kai Nielsen, ‘Moral discourse is a form of practical discourse. Moral questions are fundamentally questions about what we are to do.’ The primary intent of moral utterances is not to assert that so and so is the case, but ‘to advise, admonish, suggest, proclaim, protest that so and so be done.’
